The "rags" in these rugs are actually new fabric, the colors carefully blended to create one-of-a-kind rugs that will provide an appealing accent in a room. To get the free-flowing designs of these rugs, I carefully calculated, measured, cut and sewed the fabric in a specific order. They have a feeling of movement that is a pleasure to look at.

This series of rugs was done on commission. The client brought me bags of weft, lovingly prepared by his Grandmother over the years. It contained everything a good, old-fashioned rag rug should. There were strips of flannel, work pants, dress shirts, blouses, sweatshirts and everything else that could be cut and sewed.... all mixed together.
I threaded the loom for double-binding and wove all these variations on the same warp. The rugs with blocks and stripes have the colors reversed on the back side.
