One of the joys of handweaving is experimenting with different fibers and materials.

Traditional rag rugs were made from worn-out clothing, curtains, bedding and table linens. Cutting the "rags" into strips and sewing them together makes a colorful "hit and miss" rug........ an old favorite.

New fabric allows for more control in the design of the rug and makes it easy to coordinate with the decor.

Leather, wool roving and other unusual materials create unique rugs that can really set the mood of a room.
